Our Farms
In the highlands adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ngorongoro Conservation Area, west of Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro, lie our three coffee estates: Bergfrieden Estate, Shah Estate, and Tinga Tinga Estate. Here, elephants and buffaloes freely roam around the estates, creating a harmonious coexistence with nature. The rich soil deeply rooted in the earth offers a unique and complex aroma and flavor.
Situated at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 meters, our estates boast volcanic soil rich in minerals, making them ideal for coffee cultivation. Coupled with the pleasant climate, these estates provide an exceptionally suitable environment for growing coffee beans.
Bergfrieden Estate
In German, “Friedensberg” means “peaceful mountain,” and it is the highest point where exceptionally high-quality coffee beans are harvested due to the significant temperature difference between day and night. It is a farm where wild elephants frequently appear, coexisting harmoniously with nature. Originally settled by Germans in the early 20th century, it passed into British hands after World War I and was later inherited by the previous owner. The view of the African landscape from the top of the farm is breathtaking.

Shah Estate
Named after the former owner, it is the flagship farm and the largest in terms of total area and cultivated land among the three farms. At the highest point of the estate, there are hills named “Captain’s Hill” and “Sogore Hill,” derived from the names of British Royal Air Force personnel who fought in the East African front during World War I.
Equipped with a large-scale wet mill and African beds, this farm also hosts Japanese staff who reside here permanently. With the presence of the farm office, it serves as the focal point of the community.

Tinga Tinga Estate
Surrounded by shade trees, this tranquil estate in Tanzania is said to be named after the country’s pop art style, Tingatinga. Ample shade trees are planted here, allowing coffee cherries to ripen slowly, resulting in high sugar content and very flavorful beans, thanks to the significant temperature fluctuations.
